The product thesis
Most global hazard feeds are technically public but practically hard to read. PlanetSentry exists to make that information legible without hiding where it comes from. The globe is the visual entry point, but the deeper goal is to help readers understand planetary activity with less friction and less noise.
Who it serves
The primary audience is researchers, journalists, educators, students, analysts, and readers who want a daily situational-awareness layer. It is useful when you need a fast scan of what is active worldwide and where to dig deeper next.
What it is not
PlanetSentry is not an emergency dispatch service, evacuation product, or official warning authority. A map view can improve awareness, but it cannot replace direct guidance from emergency management, meteorological agencies, or civil protection systems.
How it stays honest
Source attribution, methodology notes, visible trust pages, and product boundaries are treated as part of the product itself. If a signal comes from NASA EONET, NOAA, USGS, GDACS, or another provider, the site is designed to preserve that context rather than erase it.
